This has been such a fun class, but very time consuming it takes me about 10 + to work on an floor plan. I am getting faster but still very long. Well if you can see the photo this is one of the floor plans that I have draw. The teacher has given me dimensions and then I draw.

One thing I love about being an (almost) Interior designer is that my mind is endless mounds of creativity. So I have always loved violins and have always wanted to decorate with one. So while I was helping my Brother Bob move I noticed in their yard sale pile a violin. So I asked if I could take it. So I decided to hang it above my piano with some wood plaques with vinyl and paper on them.

The saying goes as follows: Dance as though no one is watching you, Love as though you have never been hurt, Sing as though no one can hear you, Live as though Heaven is on Earth.

Finally I am back to a design class. I just got done with Algebra got a B I am so proud of myself. Well now I am taking a Fundamentals for Design class it's going to teach me some basic design principles and steps. I am excited. Well here is our first design assignment Positive and Negative space. Black being positive and white being negative. More fun stuff to come!

This one was done in Google Sketch Up 7 and Photo Shop. Now I wish I could take the credit for doing the house on here, but I can't. The assignment was to change the house into a sketch or a colored design in four different views, and ways. It was 3D. Very fun. Google Sketch Up7 is the new program we are learning is it a 3D program. It looks like fun. I hope to learn all of this fun stuff!

Not one of my favorites. I did not like this one to well. In the mirror there was a chair, a table, and a lamb. I had to use the cloning tool to take them out so I had to make them blend in to the background. very tedious job. Then at the bottom of the mirror by the floor and the legs to the table there was a vent along the wall. I had to take that out. and fix some of the floor boards and shadows on the wall. It was rough.

This one goes with the one below. We got to play with texture more. The main photo it textured as a painting. The one in the right corner is a ocean reflection. I can remember the one at the top, I thought it was cool looking. This is a building that Floyd Wright designed. We also had to come up with a title. Fun times with this one!

I have finally gotten into an actual Interior Design class and I LOVE it! This is the best! My class is called Digital Visualization for Interior Design. We have been working with Adobe Photoshop, and soon will be working with Google Sketchup! I am excited to learn that program it looks exciting!

Well I am into my second week now, the first week we just were kind of getting use to Photoshop, which is not too hard. But this week we are getting down to business!

The professor gave us this blank Floor plan, and told us to add color and texture to the items. It was so fun. We also added shadows to the plan, I was intimidated with that I have never been good with shadows. So here is my first floor plan!

Final

Final is finally here. I get a break for 3 weeks, although I miss it.

I really enjoyed the Color Theory class it was so much fun. I got a 96% another A to add to the list! My nest class is an Interior Design class, not sure the real name but I am going to be learning some new software and some fun stuff. I am way excited!

Yeah fun! This class has been so fun and I am sad that it is coming to an end. I wanted to share with you all my final project proposals. First we had to come up with 4 designs this is the one I liked best. Then we had to add color to one of them. Four different Harmonies of color.
Tetrad (the one above) it is 4 colors on the color wheel, to make a square.

The above is Monochromatic, just one color of hue on the color wheel.

The above is complimentary two colors directly across from each other on the color wheel

The above is Analogous 4 colors neighboring each other on the color wheel.

Transparency

This week in class we learned some really fun stuff. I learned how to make colors look transparency. In the picture above is vibration of colors. If you stare at the colors long enough it will start vibrating. It is kind of cool!
This one is a Transparency of colors it is kind of a bad post but if you look close you can see through the top colors.
This one is Depth, kind of self explanatory. You can see the depth of the colors as it moves to the back.
And this one is another Transparency one. This was so fun learning something new. I can't wait to learn more!

Been Awhile

Yes it has been awhile since I posted last but I didn't think my English assignments would be very interesting to you. I am so proud of myself for pulling a 95% in that class. Now I am on to Color Therory, finally some actual classes dealing with Interior Design. This picture is of the gradation of hues.

Here is my final drawing for this class. we got to choose what we drew and apparently I chose the hardest thing, but I didn't care I had fun the first time I drew a drapery so I thought I'd give it another chance. So I added some roses to my drapery. I think it turned out alright but what do you think?

Wahoooooo..... They posted right!!!

Well for this week we did still life drawing with a sight measure technique it was FUN!!!! Well so far I have had tons of fun with this class. I like my teacher she is very helpful and very uplifting. Ok so here is my first assignment. We just had to sketch the objects. My objects I chose were a Goblet (wine glass) a Jell-O box, a Funnel, and a Golf Ball. The golf ball and the funnel are that thing that looks like a clown hat. The next one we had to add dimension and shadow to our drawing, we used the same technique just added more life to the drawings.

Ok so don't start freaking out. I am so laughing right now at how funny it looks and at how fun this was. I was so nervous going into this class, because I hate drawing people and body parts. Well my luck turned up and I had to draw my hand, well not only had I gotten to draw my hand but I had to draw it blind. Meaning I could not look at my paper I had to stare at my hand for five minutes, and draw it. This was tough and it looks hilarious but it was fun! Laugh all you want. Really cause I am!!!! So here is the start to another drawing class. Here we go!!!!!

Finally we are done here are the after photos of my TV?Living room! I hope wall enjoy them. This turned out to be a big project and took us forever it seemed, but in the end we all love it and are very happy with the colors. Now mind you the pictures don't do any justice to the actual room so if you want to see it in person just ask!!!! On to the next project!!!!

Lights After!

Let me first describe what the lights looked like before. We have what they call "Can Lights" the light sits in the ceiling in a can. Before the transformation you would look up at the light and see a mess, you could see what they call "Day Light" through the outside of the lights we just had normal white fixtures, kind of boring nothing exciting. But the dude who cut the whole out cut it all crocked, the whole was bigger than the light it was a mess. Now that you have the before pictured in you mind, here is the after. We found these babies at Home Depot, the guy who helped us was very helpful in that Mike knew nothing of what he was doing. Well the two guys we had talked to that day were very helpful. We love Home Depot the day we got these we went there like 50 times, a mess?

We have three of these light fixtures in our room, not a whole lot of lighting, so we might eventually have to add some lamps, but this works. We are also going to put in a dimmer switch the are suppose to be energy officiant.

Enjoy my light, cause I do!!!

Before

It has been a week and I still have no TV/Living room. But it is all slowly coming together!!! We are almost done and it is going to be nice when it is finished.

Here are the before photos and I will post the after soon. Let me just add I forgot to take these before my furniture was taken down, and so there is no couches at all. Windows!!
Fireplace!

Doors to a bathroom and spare bedroom! Oh and the stairs!

I have to say who ever built our house did a crappy job on the fireplace it is off center and I hate it. I will have to post one picture so you can see I will in the after photos. It is so annoying, and it is not just our house my friend across the street has the same problem. Anyway!

So far we have painted the ceiling, the walls, and replaced the light fixtures, they were ugly too. I don't have a before those but I will explain later. We left the wood paneling up, because we were afraid of what we would find behind them.

I will post a picture of the after with the furniture in it as well.

Tips #3

Alight here is Tip 3 Color. I love color, I am every wall needs color I hate white walls. No offense to you that like the white it is your style and that is cool. But I need color it drives me crazy right now because so many of my walls are plain and boring.

Another tip for those that live in a place where you cannot paint your walls use ascent color liven up you room with color pillows, vases, pictures, curtains what ever you can think of that will add just that right touch.

Remember this is my opinion, you don't need to go out and do my tips. This is if you can afford it and want to do. I just am trying to be creative and have fun with this blog!

I had a really good one for Tip 2 but I can't remember it I guess that is what I get for not posting it any sooner.

Tip 2Family photos. I love walking into someones home and seeing all the family photos. I think this is a great touch to a home. Because family is everything right!

When I was taking Interior Design classes at SLCC the instructor said that she hates the overwhelm of family photos, but the more and more I see how creative photographers are getting with pictures it is great. They are art in and of themselves. I love the creativity of family photos and love the fun that you can show with you family photos. Not only posed family photos but snap shots sometimes those are the best family photos out there.

Make them big, small, round, square, make them in varieties have fun displaying your family!

Tip # 1
So I was thinking of doing a tip post. I want to help people with decorating their home making them fresh and classy, or whatever.

Fresh flowers is always a great way to add a fresh and bright touch to like a dinner table of a buffet table, or just any room for that matter. It will also add color and a fresh aroma to the room.

I keep telling Mike that if I could afford it I would have fresh flowers on my table every day. But I can't so I might settle for the ones that never die.

Well here is it, my final! I am again sad that this class is over, but still excited to learn more. I hope that I can keep things interesting with post. I have some ideas and I hope to make it work. Well any way!

Pre-Sketch

So this is the start of my last week of this drawing class, I have to admit that I am sad. I will have to find something to buy my time until I can get another exciting class, seeing how I have no TV anymore. I am headed into a dreaded Math class. I have always not liked Math it is not one of my favorite subjects. So if you don't see any posts for a while don't give up and leave I am just not at a point in posting things regularly.

This assignment is a pre-sketch for the final, I am suppose to draw a dream home or a room, or something to go with the career I have chosen. I tried to draw my dream house but alas, I didn't have to patients (maybe I will practice some more) so I ended up doing a Master bedroom. Here is a tease of what might be in the room. I will post the final soon. I am currently working on it, rather perfecting it. Sorry the picture sucks, but oh well. Happy Dreaming!!!!

Shadows

I must confess I am not good at shadows, I had a really hard time with this one! I really enjoyed learning this. This week was the hardest so far for me with this class. I am sad that this class is almost finished, I want to learn more but alas I will have more drawing classes. Can't wait.

A Historical Drawing!

First of all it loaded in the order I wanted this time, WOW!!!!

Here is my Three-Point Perspective final draw for the week, I had a hard time putting this together. I am glad it is over, but I can't wait to draw more. I am really starting to enjoy drawing, and might consider doing more for fun!!!!

This some of you might know what it is. I really like this place for more then one reason. This is the church I grew up going to well since I was 12, this is the church building in Tooele it is the corner or 1st street and Utah Ave, you might know it as the 5th/8th ward building. This building is also down the street from my Grandma and Grandpa Huffman's house before they passed away, which is the house we lived in for two years before moving to our current home. I have always liked this building it has such great history, and memories. Did you know this was one of the first LDS churches in the city of Tooele and the very first Stake center. I won't go into a lot of detail, but here is my drawing!!! I hope you enjoy!!!!

Three-Point Perspective

This is the start of my three point perspective.This one has been a little of a challenge and the big draw is even more. I am still working on that one and hope to finish it soon, which I will post soon!!! Worm's Eye View. This is the perspective if you were looking up at a tall building to the sky.
Bird's Eye View. Is the total opposite of the worm, this is if you were looking out a plane, or on a roof.

I really like this perspective and think the pictures in this view are great but it is sure a bugger to draw. I hope I can pull off the final. Crossing my fingers, but it is so hard.

Two Point Perspective

I finally finished this assignment it took forever, and with 25 tries ok so maybe not that much but it sure seems like it. The assignment required me to draw a house or building in two point perspective. Well here is my finished product, this in my home. One of my favorite places to be. I love pulling into my driveway and having that feeling that I am home. When we first walked into this house two years ago to buy we felt the over whelming feeling of this is our home where we belong.

I am enjoying this class it is so much fun to learn a new talent, and find that I have a talent in drawing. I love it!!!!

Perspective of a room

I was suppose to pick one room to draw in one point perspective, I chose my TV room, I did leave a ton out. It took me 100 tries to get it to this, at least that is what it seems. I am a perfectionist, it has to look perfect that is why I left somethings out. We have a huge fireplace, in the picture it would be right in the middle up by the end table, I had a hard time drawing it so I left it out. I also only drew one window, and left the computer table and a door out. I might have to take a picture so you can see it. But for those who have seen my room, I hope it looks close?

Well this is the end of my one point perspective, next is two aghh. I hope it will be easier. I also left out the wood paneling that is half of the walls on two of the three.

Her is my first assignment for my new class, it is Perspective drawing class. I had to draw these boxes in perspective and a horizon point. My new one is I have to draw a room in my house? I am a little nervous, I hope I do good. I will post it when I am done. By the way I hand drew this, and then scanned it into my computer! Looks better in person.

New Beginings!

Hello Friends and Family I know right now I am starting out, but I really want you all to be apart of my world. I am starting this blog early I know but we are getting into some really fun stuff in school and I wanted to be able to share it with you. Eventually I will be posting my designs as an Interior Designer, and some tips and other helpful stuff that I hope will help you all. I have a strong passion for this that has come about in just the last few year. I am so excited to be taking this adventure and I am happy to have you all apart of it.

The only thing is, I need help with coming up with a name again. I am so bad when it comes to creative names. I am going to brain storm and come up with some but I need your help then I will have a poll on what you all think.
